Waterproof Headphones and Earphones

Waterproof headphones are specially designed to withstand water. Heavy water exposure will destroy most sets. Waterproof headphones are particularly popular with simmers.

If you swim frequently to stay in shape, good for you. It can also get boring though. Lap after lap after lap. That’s why some like to listen to some music in the pool. You’ll need a set of waterproof headphones with your waterproof music player.

One of the most popular choices is the H3 Waterproof Headphones from H20 Audio. These are one the cheaper options; they can be purchased for about $30.

There are two ways to use the H3s. You can use the headphones as standard earbuds. It also comes with a detachable wrap-around sports band that wraps around the back of a swimmer’s head.

At the high end for these devices is the Audio Bone. A set of these costs $190.

Interestingly, these earphones don’t actually go in your ear. They loop over your ear and then transmit music directly through bones to the inner ear. According to the manufacturer, that makes them safer and more comfortable.

Aquapac also makes a popular set of headphones for the aquatically active: the “100% waterproof headphones.” For its price of about $40 the Aquapac is considered to have very good sound quality.

Waterproof headsets aren’t just for swimmers. They are a popular choice though for anybody who likes to listen to music when exposed to a lot of water. Those that frequently sail, synchronize swim (all two of you) or jog in the rain might want to take a look.

One the most important thing to keep in mind with these is to find a set that’s comfortable. No two models are designed exactly the same, just like no two pairs of ears.
